Towards a more sustainable future

 Towards a more sustainable future

The Philippines being a world country may not sound that much considering it's a part of Southeast Asia, and Southeast Asia countries usually suffer the same issues, commonly environmental issues, social, political, and, of course, economic issues. Although related to economics such as salary, jobs, or work, the Philippines is below most Southeast Asian countries. Because of this, Filipinos respond negatively, as these issues occurring in the Philippines are what are limiting Filipinos ability to advance. Others respond in hopelessness and tiresomely work, hoping to wake up another day. Some or most of them consider working abroad, which sometimes leads to them being harassed, just so they can earn more and enough money for their loved ones.

On the other hand, when I interviewed some of my friends who live in different Southeast Asian countries, I noticed that they have different school systems, and surprise, their salaries and open jobs are way more available and higher than our country. although there are still pros and cons because other issues exist, like political, social, or moral, and most commonly environmental issues. One of the main issues they suffer a lot is political and social issues, as corruption may not never exist in countries, and with the amount of different cultures and races that live in the same country as them, discrimination and language barriers exist.

It is sickening to see our country battles the same issues for years now, and sometimes it continually gets worse by year. Even though with the same repetitive and complicated occurring issues, this also has a positive impact, as these give motivation to Filipinos to do their best. That's why whenever our fellow Filipinos or our country achieve something amazing, it not only inspires people but also makes them more grateful and appreciative of our country. Carlos Yulo is the example of the first Filipino to achieve a two-time gold medal in the Olympics. These amazing achievements of our fellow Filipinos cause people to feel assured that if we continue to do our best, we can achieve something we couldn't think of achieving.

In conclusion, the Philippines, in terms of economics, is below most of the Southeast Asian countries that revolve around very complex and complicated issues, but this doesn't mean the Philippines will remain worst; there is still hope if we continue reaching for it.
